In recent days we had the privilege of speaking with our good friend, Lt. Chuck Pfarrer about the situation on the fronts of Ukraine, focusing on the latest, unexpected attack of the Ukrainian Army in the Kursk region. Over the years, Lt. Pfarrer has distinguished himself not only as a legendary U.S. Navy SEAL who served in SEAL Team Four and SEAL Team Six (during his career, he was assigned as the Assault Element Commander at the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) ), but also as an analyst of military operations, war correspondent and a founding member of the Information Warfare Initiative (iWi) and host at the Mriya Report. His expertise in special operations and his firsthand knowledge of modern warfare have made him an invaluable source of insight when assessing current military developments.

As I’ve mentioned, during our latest discussion, we turned our attention to the ongoing situation in Russia’s Kursk region, where Ukrainian troops continue to maintain positions as part of their second surprise offensive launched in January 2025. The fighting in Kursk receives less public attention than some of the more high-profile battles in Ukraine’s defense against the Russian invasion, yet it remains a critical arena with intense clashes.
