In a week, we will mark the beginning of the fourth year of the full-scale war that Russia wages on Ukraine—a conflict that has altered the political and humanitarian landscape of Europe with staggering speed. Since February 24th 2022, Ukraine has been under relentless attack by the forces of the notorious war criminal Putler, whose aggression has resulted in widespread destruction across Ukrainian cities and immeasurable human suffering. The Ukrainian people’s fierce resistance and remarkable resilience have defied expectations, proving that sovereignty and freedom are worth defending, no matter the cost. Today, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces released the usual batch of data on Russian losses, and President Zelenskyy, in turn, shared some figures on Ukrainian losses. Here, we are referring solely to combatant casualties. Based on these numbers, it is our view that the Russian invasion of Ukraine ranks as the second bloodiest conflict in the world over the last 50 years and the worst in Europe since World War II.
