Tusk Regime Raids Live TV: Unfolding Drama in Poland
Tensions soar in Warsaw as Tusk regime officers aim to detain an ex-minister on air. Explore how a TV Republika's stand for press freedom challenged political power in a high-stakes event.
Today, during the broadcast of the morning current affairs show “Jedziemy”, hosted by our very own Michał Rachoń, the police of Donald Tusk’s regime attempted to illegally force their way into the headquarters of Telewizja Republika in order to detain former Justice Minister in the conservative PiS government, Zbigniew Ziobro. Their intention was to bring him before a parliamentary investigative committee. Precisely at the moment the police “stormed” the TV studio, Michał was conducting an interview with Minister Ziobro. Such attempts by law enforcement to enter an independent journalistic newsroom without the appropriate court documents are, of course, illegal in any self-respecting democratic country.
Acting on this principle and out of concern for the protection of confidential information and sources, the journalists and employees of the television station blocked Donald Tusk’s police from entering the premises. Michał finished his interview with the former justice minister, who, after the broadcast, voluntarily surrendered to the officers to be taken to a parliamentary committee hearing—although the committee operates de facto illegally (there is a ruling in this matter from the Constitutional Tribunal, the highest judicial body in Poland). The entire operation by Donald Tusk’s lackeys was then exposed, as the committee immediately ended its session as soon as Zbigniew Ziobro arrived in the building. In closing the session, the committee filed a motion to arrest the former minister.

Morning Raid
This entire farce began in the early morning hours, when police officers arrived at Zbigniew Ziobro’s home to detain him and bring him before the Investigative Committee on the Use of Pegasus Software.
The committee in question was established by a resolution of the Polish Sejm on January 17, 2024, to examine the legality, correctness, and advisability of operational and investigative activities carried out, among other methods, with the use of the Pegasus software. The international scandal that led to the committee’s formation—known as the “Pegasus Affair”—began in Spain with the so-called “Catalan Gate” following revelations published by left-wing journalists based on information from the Canadian Citizen Lab. This entire affair was later described as an operation by Russian special services aimed at concealing Russia’s involvement in the Catalan separatists’ coup. A comprehensive work on this subject, titled “The Pegasus spyware scandal: A critical review of Citizen Lab’s ‘CatalanGate’ report,” was published by Jose Javier Olivas Osuna of the Department of Political Science and Administration at the National Distance Education University in Madrid (UNED). In the publications of journalists and Citizen Lab data, Polish threads also appeared, which the then opposition led by Donald Tusk used to boost a campaign of accusations of infiltration of the opposition by the conservative government. In reality, at that time the services also checked conservative politicians, and as we know, Donald Tusk's services currently have and use almost identical although not the same tool (since September 2021, NSO Group, the Israeli manufacturer of Pegasus, has refused to extend the subscription license for the software, making it impossible for Polish services to use Pegasus).
In Poland, “Pegasus” software was used, among other things, to investigate corruption and track Russian influence, leading to accusations of 17 criminal offenses (including corruption) against the former Minister of Transport, Construction, and Maritime Economy, who was also Secretary of State in the Prime Minister’s Office and Head of the Prime Minister’s Political Cabinet under Donald Tusk—Sławomir Nowak. The investigation against Tusk’s close associate, conducted jointly with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, relied on evidence collected using the “Pegasus” software—hence, likely, the current prime minister’s fury toward this tool. Establishing a parliamentary investigative committee on this matter was one of Tusk’s first major decisions (right after the illegal takeover of the state broadcaster TVP) upon assuming power.
Police are not allowed into the headquarters of Telewizja Republika
The Constitutional Tribunal’s Verdict
However, as stated during a hearing on September 10, 2024, the Constitutional Tribunal, reviewing a complaint from conservative MPs, found Article 2 of the resolution establishing the committee (the scope of its activities) to be incompatible with Article 2 of the Polish Constitution. This created a legal situation in which the committee is functioning illegally. Donald Tusk, who could easily fix the problem—simply by having the Sejm re-adopt such a resolution while adhering to all legal requirements, which should be no issue given his majority—paid no heed to the verdict of the highest judicial authority and pushed forward with the committee. All PiS politicians withdrew from participation in the committee, and conservative politicians summoned before it were very reluctant to appear, continually emphasizing its illegal nature. When they did appear, they “ripped apart” its barely concealed political character and total lack of professionalism. The case involving the former justice minister unfolded a bit differently.
The Attempt to Arrest Zbigniew Ziobro
In September 2024 Ziobro was summoned to the committee for a hearing scheduled on October 14. The politician was on a break from active political duties due to an ongoing health battle—he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2023. The commotion over summoning him to the committee lasted several months. Citing the Constitutional Tribunal’s ruling and his poor health, the former minister refused to appear. Ultimately, the committee asked the court to issue an arrest warrant to compel his appearance at its January 31, 2025, session. As mentioned, armed with this court-issued “warrant,” Donald Tusk’s police began their manhunt for the politician at his home in the morning. They did not find Ziobro there, yet they set up a cordon outside his house for several hours. Importantly, Zbigniew Ziobro did not hide the fact that he would not be in Poland at that time; he was traveling from Brussels.
Zbigniew Ziobro willingly goes down to the police officers and journalists besieging the entrance to Telewizja Republika
When the politician appeared on TV Republika’s morning show, giving an interview to Michał Rachoń, officers quickly arrived at the station’s headquarters. As noted at the outset, due to the completely unlawful nature of the police action on the premises of a journalistic newsroom, entry and the planned arrest were prevented. After the interview, the former minister willingly went out to the police, informed them of the committee’s illegal status, and, not wanting to resist, accompanied them to the Sejm with the intention of participating in the session. That is when the whole truth behind this political spectacle came to light. As revealed on the social media platform X.com by committee member MP Przemysław Wipler:
“The Pegasus Committee, upon hearing that Zbigniew Ziobro was entering the Sejm building, filed a formal motion to end the discussion as quickly as possible and vote on an arrest request. They’re not after the truth but theatrics and legal tricks. They didn’t want to hear him out.”
Later, answering journalists’ questions, Wipler also said:
“Members of the Pegasus investigative committee from the ruling parties did not want to listen to Zbigniew Ziobro. They valued pushing through a 30-day arrest request more. At the moment one of the MPs said, ‘Hurry, let’s wrap up; he’ll be here soon’—that’s the exact quote—a formal motion was made to end discussion.”

In their rush to pass the motion and close the committee session, MP Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska (Koalicja Obywatelska) had to nudge MP Sławomir Ćwik (Polska 2025) with her elbow to prevent him from extending the proceedings any further.
A member of parliament from Donald Tusk's coalition uses her elbow to discipline her colleague from the committee so that he does not prolong the session and prevents Zbigniew Ziobro from speaking
What Comes Next?
Will the regime of Donald Tusk—backed by the EU (especially Germany)—dare to imprison a cancer-stricken former justice minister? It’s not out of the question. From the start of Donald Tusk’s coalition rule, it has shown complete ruthlessness and a total disregard for legal, customary, and moral norms, so nothing is off the table. After today’s embarrassment of his police at the doors of TV Republika, we also expect increased persecution of the station’s journalists—indeed, since the very beginning of Tusk’s administration, they have been denied entry to every government press conference, and there have been threats of revoking the station’s broadcasting licenses. This is especially likely given that TV Republika has, for some time now, been surpassing all pro-government news channels in viewership, making it the leading news station. Poles see the lies and hypocrisy of Tusk and his media clique and will not allow the introduction of totalitarianism here—this time under a liberal-left banner.
This is a scandal and breaking the law brazenly in front of the EUROKOŁKHOZ which likes it. Just like they interfered in the Romanian elections. Tusk is a traitor to the Polish nation. He should be brought before the State Tribunal together with his minions who cover him up.
I am ashamed that we have such a government of bunglers in Poland.
“To me, as you say, pockets out of your hands again, said Tusk “ 🤦👏😂
Great reporting Michal, tyvm for informing the people of tusk's communistic treachery. I find it infuriating that the western eu broadcasters use the terms "right, far right, conservative" to describe the communists and the term "left, far left, liberal" to describe the anti-communist good guys! I would think by now that someone would have figured out this obvious, communist propaganda play on words and fixed it. The communist puppets in the msm media here are trying to gradually inject that deliberately designed way of speaking. IMO this was done by the communists to sow confusion between the U.S. and other pro western anti communist government's general public, and anti-communist eu countries general public when they hear U.S. and other pro western news reports. The point is we all need to be on the same page when identifying and talking about, good guys and bad guys. The pro western, anti-communist eu countries pro western anti communist news outlets need to stop dancing to communist word play music. I don't say this to be harshly critical but this needs to be seriously addressed! Here in the U.S. the terms "conservative, right" means anti communist good guy and "liberal, left, progressive" means COMMUNIST BAD GUY, exactly opposite, although the communist msm here is trying to convince everyone that good is evil and evil is good! God bless and keep you Michal, your staff, and all your Polish Patriot Telewizja Republika colleagues, in Jesus name amen:)<3
