From White House Chaos to Strategic Alliances: The Ukrainian Deal

With Europe failing to offer real security for Ukraine, Zelenskyy’s only viable path to ending the conflict is through decisive action from Trump and the USA.

It has been several days since the catastrophe that took place at the White House during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit. As we emphasized in several earlier posts, here at RRWR we were very enthusiastic about the prospective deal that would tie American interests to Ukrainian rare-earth minerals. The collapse of those talks was an enormous disappointment for us. Everything had been virtually agreed upon – as confirmed by Ukrainian and American sources. The text leaked to the press (we published it following the Kyiv Independent) and even Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal told reporters outright that everything was in place, now only the signatures remain… However, the Ukrainian-American agreement and further cooperation is not yet dead. It will require diplomatic efforts, American goodwill, and Zelenskyy putting his ego aside (which we think has partly already begun).

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has a poor relationship with President Donald Trump, but he cannot afford to sulk, especially during an official conference.
