Unfortunately, If Trump gets back in office he expects he will win his full immunity claim where he can do anything he wants and not be held accountable for his actions while he is president. Putin doesn't even get to that extreme. At least Putin tries to hide his actions a bit.. The U.S. is really turning into a wild card in regards to world order.

His statement about Biden was just a bit of smoke in Putin's constant stream of lies. They are made with the intent of influencing the Russians. He would like to posture for them at this time of "election" that he is reasonable and prefers stability. Trump is of course Putin's preferred diet.
I think also, if he claims to support Biden, people who might vote for Biden might also see that as a vote for Putin, which would make them vote for Trump??
